Title IX
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex under any education program or activity receiving federal financial aid. Sexual assault and sexual harassment are forms of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX.
Know Your IX
Kettering University is committed to providing a learning, living and working environment free from discrimination. The University will not tolerate any gender based discrimination, including sexual misconduct, committed by students, staff or faculty. This applies to all university-operated programs: academic, educational, athletic, residential and others. Kettering University encourages individuals to seek assistance if they believe they have experienced sex discrimination or been subjected to sexual misconduct by any student or employee.
The University encourages the campus community to "Know Your IX" and take steps to understand individual's rights and responsibilities as they relate to issues of sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, relationship violence and stalking. To accomplish this, our faculty, staff and students are required to complete a training course on Title IX.
